Garlic Mustard Pull and Invasive Plant Discussion with the Invasive Plant Species Committee

Here is your opportunity to help in Nantucket’s efforts to manage non-native invasive species! Join members of the Nantucket Invasive Plant Species Committee (IPSC) for a group plant pull for the non-native invasive garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata) at the Nantucket Land Bank’s Lily Pond property. Garlic mustard is easy to pull by hand. We’ll discuss the invasion history of garlic mustard, how it impacts native species and the surrounding ecosystem, and how we manage for it on Nantucket.

We will follow-up with a nature walk around the Lily Pond property highlighting many of Nantucket’s most notorious invasive species.

All pulling equipment will be provided including gloves and trash bags.
