Nantucket Rainbow Parade & Harbor Start for Opera House Cup

The classic parade of Nantucket’s Rainbow Fleet (catboats with colorful sails) around Brant Point kicks off the Opera House Cup Regatta.  The parade begins at 9:40 am, but because the beach gets crowded with spectators, we recommend that you arrive early (perhaps with coffee and a picnic breakfast), bring blankets and chairs to sit on as you watch the fun.  The Harbor Start, when the competing boats head out from the harbor to the start, begins around 10:15 am.  Opera House Cup is a regatta for classic yachts with wooden hulls.
