Celebrating the Intergenerational Power of Black Arts
Nantucket Black History Month will present Celebrating the Intergenerational Power of Black Arts at the historic African Meeting House, 29 York Street. This free event honors Black creativity, storytelling, and artistic expression across generations through live performances, spoken word, music, and conversation.
The program features performances by Neville Richen (Nantucket High School senior and Poetry Out Loud winner), Danielle Lewis, and Ecliff’s Jazz Trio, along with a panel discussion and a keynote address by Massachusetts Poet Laureate Regie Gibson. Designed to be interactive and welcoming for all ages, the event highlights the arts as a powerful force for connection, education, and cultural preservation.
This celebration is presented in partnership with the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Nantucket Department of Culture & Tourism, the Nantucket Historical Association, and the Museum of African American History Boston and Nantucket.
