49th Annual Sand Castle and Sculpture Day

Nantucket Island School of Design and the Arts founded this event in 1975. It began with neighborhood families getting together at the beach with a picnic to enjoy time together building sandcastles and has grown to include our whole Nantucket community and island visitors – many coming from afar and returning year after year to participate!

For 2024 the Sandcastle Day is co-sponsored by NISDA and the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce.

Join in a fun filled afternoon at Jetties Beach, creating glorious sandcastles and sand sculptures – perhaps a magnificent mermaid, sea creature, giant guitar, or awesome car!  Ribbons for ALL!

Pre-registration is encouraged, as space is limited and fills up fast.
Pre-register at www.nisda.org  or at the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce office at Zero Main Street. Registration is open until 12 noon on Friday, August 2.
