Create charming needlepoint ornaments inspired by the Nantucket Historical Association’s collection of historic schoolgirl samplers. In this two-session workshop, you’ll choose from a selection of simple designs featuring motifs drawn directly from samplers in the NHA collection.
Learn a few basic needlepoint stitches and explore different ways to bring your chosen design to life. Whether you’re new to needlepoint or have some experience, you’ll enjoy creating a small piece of Nantucket-inspired history to adorn your holiday tree.
All materials are provided, including canvas, threads, and needles. You’re also welcome to bring along any favorite threads from your own collection to incorporate into your project.
Once your needlepoint is complete, continue your holiday project in the December Needlepoint Ornament Finishing workshop with Meg Fielder, where you’ll learn how to professionally finish your ornament—just in time for Christmas!
