International Women’s Day Breakfast

Join the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Nantucket Historical Association, and sponsored by Cape Cod 5 in the Whaling Museum at 13 Broad Street for an International Women’s Day Breakfast & Panel. Enjoy an informational and impactful morning of networking and discussions around Nantucket women in business.

This year’s theme is “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.” According to the United Nations, “…Achieving gender equality and women’s well-being in all aspects of life is more crucial than ever if we want to create prosperous economics and a healthy planet. However, we are facing a key challenge: the alarming $360 billion annual deficit in gender-equality measures by 2030.” (UN.org) Topics include, but aren’t limited to:

• Investing in Women, a Human Rights Issue
• Ending Poverty
• Implementing Gender-responsive Financing
• Shifting to a Green Economy and Care Society
• Supporting Feminist Change-makers

The impact of investment inequality and the importance of protecting women and other marginalized groups will also be discussed.
Doors open at 8:30 am and the panel begins at 9:00 am.
