Liberty Tree Dedication Ceremony

The Town of Nantucket will install a bench and boulder with a plaque designating the huge elm tree at 10 Surfside Rd by the Nantucket High School pool parking lot as a “Liberty Tree”.
We are commemorating the 250th anniversary of the start of our country by dedicating this elm tree a “Liberty Tree” as part of a national effort by the Sons of the American Revolution to plant 250 trees across the country by July 4th. The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will feature brief remarks from Tree Advisory Committee member Mary Longacre, who spearheaded the project.
