Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is pleased to host the annual Plein Air Nantucket, a plein air painting festival. This week long event is free and open to all artists at any skill level who wish to paint outdoors and enjoy the camaraderie of painting with peers. Fresh works from this event hang in the Big Gallery and are available for purchase. Frank Swift Chase Awards for excellence in en plein air painting are presented on the last day.
6/11 – Sign up at Big Gallery & start to paint
6/12 – Annual Paint Out Day – Around Folger’s Marsh – 2 locations UMass Field Station and Shipwreck Museum – 10 am onward; free bus travel from town to Shipwreck Museum and back is available
6/13 – Quick Paint Day – 10 am to 12:30 pm – 2 locations TBA
6/14-16 – Paint, paint, paint
6./16 – Closing Reception and Frank Swift Chase Awards – Big Gallery – 5 pm
