Dreamland Concert Series: Corky Laing (of Mountain) & Friends

Back again this August in what’s become a beloved Dreamland tradition, legendary drummer Corky Laing — the powerhouse behind 1970s rock pioneers Mountain and a longtime Nantucketer — returns to the kit for a special retrospective concert. Hosted by actor and director John Shea, the evening brings together a rotating cast of local talent and national touring musicians for a one-of-a-kind celebration of Corky’s storied career.

This multi-media performance shines a light on the songs Corky and Mountain wrote right here on Nantucket — including the anthems “Mississippi Queen” and “Nantucket Sleighride” — woven together with a rotating photo show projected onscreen, sharing Corky’s island memories across the decades.

Joining him are island guests Floyd Kellogg (the Andy Frasco Band), Julian Stanley, Jake Vohs, Janette Vohs, and John Shea, plus a few very special surprise musical guests.
