The month of October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. A Safe Place will acknowledge the significance of domestic violence awareness with a variety of activities and programs.
In collaboration with the Nantucket Atheneum, we invite you to join A Safe Place’s Community Educator, Dr. Kimal McCarthy, for a presentation titled According to the Statistics. Using national and local data, Dr. McCarthy with share facts about domestic violence and lead a discussion on how our island community and individuals can help to mitigate – end – domestic violence.
This is a Lunch & Learn event; participants are encouraged to bring a light lunch. Desserts will be provided by A Safe Place. Please wear the color purple in solidarity with survivors.
