Getting your event on the Nantucket Events calendar takes about 10 minutes: create a free account, fill in a six-step event form, and our team reviews it within 1–3 business days. Standard listings are charged per date, and only after your event is approved.

Quick start
- Create an account on the Create Account page. You’ll need your name, email, a password and a logo image.
- Go to your dashboard (My Account). You’re taken there automatically after signing up.
- Click Submit an Event and work through the six steps: Basics, Details, Location, Organizer, Tickets, Review & Submit.
- Add a payment method on the last step if you have a Standard account. Your card is saved securely with Square and isn’t charged yet.
- Wait for review. We email you when your event is approved and live, or if it needs changes. Your card is charged at approval.
Your progress is saved as a draft as you go, so you can stop and come back at any step.
Creating your account
Creating an account is free and needs no card. The Create Account form has four short parts.
1. Your Account
- Name — your name or your organization’s name. It’s how we greet you in emails and on your dashboard.
- Email — this is also your login. Use an address you check, since approvals, payment receipts and requests for changes all go there.
- Password — at least 8 characters.
- Phone — optional. The box starts with 508- for island numbers; replace it if yours is different.
2. Account Logo (required)
Your logo is the image we show on any event you submit without its own photo, so every listing has a picture.
- JPG, PNG or WebP
- 400 × 400 pixels or larger recommended
- Up to 1 MB
A square logo on a plain background works best.
3. Promo Code (optional)
If we’ve given you a code, enter it here.
- Advertiser codes upgrade your account to Advertiser right away: unlimited free listings and recurring events.
- Discount codes are saved to your account and filled in for you each time you submit an event.
No code? Leave it blank. You can also enter a discount code later, on the last step of the event form.
4. Agreements
Tick both boxes: you accept the Terms of Service, and you confirm you have the rights to use any images you upload. Then click Create Account. You’re signed in and taken straight to your dashboard, and we send a welcome email.
Signing in later
Use the Log In page with your email and password. Forgot your password? Click Forgot your password? on the Log In page and we’ll email you a reset link.
Already have an account?
If you try to sign up with an email that’s already registered, we email that address a reminder with a login link instead of creating a second account. Check your inbox (and spam folder).
Account types and pricing
New accounts start as Standard: $25 per event date, charged only when we approve the event. Your account type is shown under your name on the dashboard.
| Account type | What you pay | Recurring schedules | Card needed? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $25 per date, charged at approval | No — add each date individually | Yes, added when you submit your first event |
| Advertiser | Nothing — unlimited listings | Yes | No |
| Nonprofit / community | Discounted or free, by arrangement | No | Only if a fee applies |
How the per-date price works
- Each date your event takes place is one listing. An event on 3 dates is 3 × $25 = $75.
- Several start times on the same day count as one date.
- You see the total on the last step, before you submit.
- If your event isn’t approved, you aren’t charged.
- Listing fees are non-refundable once your event is live.
Advertiser accounts
Businesses and organizations with a nantucket.net advertising package get unlimited event listings at no charge, recurring schedules, and consideration for print in Yesterday’s Island Today’s Nantucket (our editorial team decides what runs). See the advertising packages page. If you’re new, enter the Advertiser promo code we send you when you create your account. If you already have an account, we upgrade it for you and email you when it’s done.
Nonprofits and community organizations
We offer reduced or free listings to approved nonprofit and charitable organizations. Contact us to ask. If you’re approved, we’ll send you a promo code to enter on your account or on the last step of the event form.
Promo codes
- Enter a discount code on the Review & Submit step and click Apply. The new total shows right away.
- A 100% code makes the listing free, and no card is needed.
- Codes can have an expiry date and a limit on uses. If a code isn’t accepted, the message explains why.
- If your event is rejected or you withdraw it, the code use is given back.
Posting an event, step by step
From your dashboard, click Submit an Event. The form has six steps; use Next and ← Back to move between them, or Save & Exit to finish later.
Step 1 — Basics
- Event Title — the name people will see on the calendar. Keep it short and specific, for example “Sunset Jazz on the Wharf” rather than “Concert”.
- Categories — choose up to 3. At least one is required. They decide where your event appears when people browse by type.
- Event Date — the first (or only) date of your event. Dates in the past aren’t accepted.
- More than one date? (Standard accounts) Click + Add Another Date for each extra date, up to 60. Each date is billed as its own listing, and the running total updates as you add dates.
- Recurring event (Advertiser accounts) Tick This is a recurring event and choose Daily, Weekly, Biweekly, Specific Days of Week, or Custom Recurring Dates. Set an end date. Add Exception Dates for days it doesn’t happen, and Exception Times to drop one time on a particular day.
- All day event — tick this for events with no set start time, like an open house, fair or exhibit. It shows as “All Day” on the calendar.
- Start Time and End Time — start time is required unless the event is all day. End time is optional.
- Multiple times same day — for repeat showings on one day (for example 2:00, 5:00 and 8:00 PM). Add each time. This still counts as one date.
- Event Image — optional if you have an account logo; we use your logo if you skip it. Tick the box confirming you have the rights to the image.
Image tips: photos look best horizontal, about 1200 × 800 pixels, with the main subject in the center, because the calendar crops them to a square. Flyers and posters are shown whole, so upload them at least 1000 pixels wide to keep the text readable. JPG or PNG; large files are resized automatically before upload.
Step 2 — Details
- Event Description (required) — say what it is, who it’s for, and anything people need to know: what to bring, age limits, accessibility, parking, rain plan. Descriptions that answer what, when, where and who are approved fastest.
Want your event in print? The step shows a link to advertising options for Yesterday’s Island Today’s Nantucket.
Step 3 — Location
- Start typing in Search existing locations and pick your venue from the list. Most island venues are already there.
- Not listed? Open + Add a new location and enter the name, street address, city (Nantucket, MA is filled in), phone and website. Click Add Location. If it looks similar to one we already have, we’ll suggest it so you don’t create a duplicate.
- New locations are reviewed by our team along with your event.
Step 4 — Organizer
- Search for the organization hosting the event and click it to add it. You can add up to 8 organizers, for co-hosted events.
- Not listed? Open + Add a new organizer: name, phone, website and (optionally) address. New organizers are reviewed with your event.
Step 5 — Tickets
- Free Admission — tick if the event is free. Otherwise add at least one ticket tier (for example “Adults $20”, “Children $10”), each with an optional link.
- Registration Required — tick if people must sign up first, and add the Registration URL.
- Buy Tickets URL (optional) — a link straight to the ticket purchase page.
- More Information URL (optional) — a page with full event details.
- Ticket Availability — General, Limited Seating or Sold Out.
If your event has several dates, the same links are used for all of them, so link to a page where people can choose their date and time.
Web addresses can be typed as www.example.com; you don’t need the https://.
Step 6 — Review & Submit
- Check the summary of everything you entered. Use ← Back to fix anything.
- Promo code (Standard accounts) — enter it and click Apply.
- Payment (Standard accounts) — if this is your first paid event, enter your card. It’s saved securely with Square and charged only after we approve the event. If you already have a card on file, you’ll see its last four digits.
- Tick the confirmation boxes: image rights, Terms of Service, that your event is reviewed before going live, and (Standard accounts) the listing fee.
- Click Submit Event for Review.
You’ll see a confirmation page with what happens next, and we email you a copy. If it doesn’t arrive in a few minutes, check your junk or spam folder.
After you submit
Our team reviews every event, usually within 1–3 business days. We check that the event is on Nantucket, that the date and details are right, and that it isn’t already listed. When we approve it, your card is charged and the event goes live.
What your status means
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Started but not submitted. Drafts are kept for 30 days. | Click Continue to finish it. |
| Pending Review | Submitted and waiting for our team. | Nothing. You can Withdraw it if you need to change something. |
| Live | Approved and on the calendar. | Click View to see it, or Edit to update it. |
| Payment Required | Approved, but payment didn’t go through or is due. | Click Pay or update your card on the Billing tab. |
| Rejected | Needs changes before it can go live. The reason is shown under the status. | Click Resubmit, fix it and submit again. |
| Past | The event’s last date has passed. Events with dates still to come stay Live. | Click Renew to bring it back with new dates. |
Emails you’ll receive
- Event received — pending review: confirms your submission and shows the listing fee.
- Your event is live!: sent at approval, with the amount charged and the last four digits of your card.
- Your event submission needs changes: explains what to fix, with a link to resubmit.
- Payment failed — action needed: your card was declined at approval. Update it and we retry automatically.
- Payment required to publish your event: a payment link for events we’ve priced individually.
- Your draft event expires soon: a reminder 7 days before an unfinished draft is deleted.
Add our email address to your contacts so these don’t land in spam.
Common reasons an event needs changes
- No image, or an image that doesn’t show the event clearly.
- A description without enough detail: what, when, where and who it’s for.
- A date or time that doesn’t match other information about the event.
- The event is already on the calendar.
- The event isn’t taking place on Nantucket.
- The listing doesn’t meet our listing guidelines.
Managing your events
Everything you’ve submitted is on the My Events tab of your dashboard. The counters at the top show how many listings are live, need attention, or are drafts, and the filter buttons narrow the list by status, including Past.
Drafts
- Your progress saves automatically as you fill in the form. Save & Exit saves and takes you back to your dashboard.
- Each draft shows which step you reached and when it will be deleted. Drafts are kept for 30 days, and we email you a reminder 7 days before one expires.
- Click Continue to pick up where you left off, or Delete to remove a draft you don’t need. Deleting can’t be undone.
Withdrawing a submission
While an event is Pending Review, click Withdraw to pull it back to a draft. Make your changes and submit it again. You aren’t charged for a withdrawn event.
Editing a live event
Edits are free and go live as soon as you save them.
- Click Edit next to the event. The button shows how many edits you have left, for example “Edit (2 left)”.
- Each event can be edited 3 times. Saving without changing anything doesn’t count.
- Editing closes the day before the event’s original date. After that, the button shows “Editing closed”; contact us if something must change.
- On the last step, choose a reason for the update (Weather, Scheduling conflict, Venue change, Performer / speaker change, High demand, Correction to listing, or Other) and add a short note if you like, such as “Moved indoors due to rain”.
- If you change the date, time, location or ticket details, your event page shows an Event Updated notice so attendees see what changed and why.
Adding dates to a live event
Dates can’t be added to an event that’s already live. Submit a new listing for the extra dates, or contact us. On a Standard account, each added date is billed as its own listing.
Fixing a rejected event
The reason is shown under the Rejected status and in the email we send. Click Resubmit, make the changes, and submit again. You’re only charged when the event is approved.
Renewing a past event
If your event comes back every year, like an annual concert or fundraiser, renew it instead of starting over. It returns to the calendar at the same web address.
- On My Events, find the past event (use the Past filter) and click Renew.
- The form opens with everything from last time filled in except the dates. Choose the new date or dates, and update anything else that has changed.
- Submit it. The event goes back to Pending Review and is reviewed like a new event.
Good to know:
- A renewal is priced like a new event: $25 per date on a Standard account, free for Advertisers. Promo codes apply.
- Nothing changes until you submit, so you can back out and the past event stays as it was.
- Renewals aren’t saved as drafts while you work, so finish in one go.
- Your edit count starts fresh, and editing closes the day before the new first date.
- If you withdraw a renewal, it’s kept as a draft marked “Withdrawn renewal” and isn’t deleted after 30 days. Click Continue to submit it again.
Removing a live event
If your event is cancelled, contact us and we’ll take it down. Listing fees for events that have gone live aren’t refunded.
Account settings and billing
Account Settings tab
- Profile Information — change your first and last name, email address and phone number, then click Save Changes. Phone numbers use the format 508-000-0000. Changing your email also changes the address you log in with.
- Account Logo — click Upload New Logo to replace it. The new logo is used on any event without its own image.
- Password — enter your current password and a new one of at least 8 characters, then click Update Password.
Billing tab
- Shows the card on file (type, last four digits and expiry), with Update Card and Remove.
- No card yet? Click Add Payment Method, or add one on the last step of the event form.
- Card details go straight to Square, our payment processor. They’re never stored on our server.
- If a charge fails, a banner appears on your dashboard. Update your card and we retry the charge automatically.
- Advertiser accounts don’t need a card on file.
Frequently asked questions
Accounts
Does it cost anything to create an account?
No. Creating an account is free, and you don’t need a card to sign up.
Why do I need to upload a logo?
So every listing has an image. If you submit an event without its own photo, we show your logo instead.
Can more than one person use our account?
Each account has one email and password. If several people at your organization post events, share the login or ask us about separate accounts.
I didn’t get my welcome or confirmation email.
Check your junk or spam folder, then add our address to your contacts. Most “missing” emails are there.
How do I change my email address?
On the Account Settings tab. Your new email becomes your login.
Listings and pricing
When is my card charged?
Only after our team approves your event. You get an email with the amount charged.
What if my event isn’t approved?
You aren’t charged. We tell you what needs fixing so you can resubmit.
My event runs on several dates. How much will it cost?
$25 per date on a Standard account. You’ll see the total before you submit. Several start times on the same day count as one date.
Can I set up a weekly or recurring event?
Recurring schedules come with Advertiser accounts. On a Standard account, add each date with + Add Another Date.
Are listings refundable?
Listing fees are non-refundable once your event is live.
I’m a nonprofit. Do I have to pay?
Approved nonprofits and community organizations can get reduced or free listings. Contact us to ask.
How do I become an Advertiser?
See the advertising packages on nantucket.net. Once you’re signed up, we either send you a code to enter when you create your account, or upgrade your existing account and email you to say it’s done.
Will my event appear in the printed paper?
Advertisers’ events are considered for print in Yesterday’s Island Today’s Nantucket. Our editorial team decides what runs.
Submitting and editing
How long does review take?
Usually 1–3 business days. Submit early, especially for summer events.
Can I save a half-finished event?
Yes. Your progress saves automatically, and drafts are kept for 30 days.
I made a mistake after submitting.

How many times can I edit a live event?
Three times, up to the day before the event’s original date. Contact us if you need more.

My event happens every year. Do I have to enter it again?
No. Once last year’s event is past, click Renew on My Events, pick the new dates and submit. It’s reviewed and priced like a new event, and goes back up at the same link.
My venue or organizer isn’t in the list.
Add it with + Add a new location or + Add a new organizer. We review it with your event.
What size should my image be?
Photos: horizontal, about 1200 × 800 pixels, subject in the center. Flyers: at least 1000 pixels wide. JPG or PNG.
Can I list an event that isn’t on Nantucket?
No. The calendar is for events taking place on Nantucket Island.
