Tony Sarg: Genius at Play Exhibit Opens

This is the Nantucket Historical Association’s featured exhibit for 2024 in their Nantucket Whaling Museum, 13 Broad Street.

Tony Sarg’s vast knowledge of puppet technology was instrumental in his design of the inaugural Thanksgiving Day parade balloons for Macy’s Department Store in 1927, as well as automated displays for the company’s festive holiday windows, which were imitated nationwide.
