The Clean Team is a group of over four hundred Nantucketers which is dedicated to keep our Island’s beaches, dunes, roadsides and bike paths free of litter. Each “season” (from Daffodil Weekend until mid-October) every Saturday morning at 8 a.m, an average of 28 volunteers meets for 60 minutes of litter patrol.
In the course of the six-plus months, The Clean Team gathers over four tons of litter and debris from Nantucket downtown and beaches.

Penwork decoration has been used since  the 18th century on furniture, frames and boxes, often to create the illusion of inlaid ivory.

In this workshop you will learn how to transfer and draw a design using  a variety of tips and tricks.  Choose a circle or pear shaped prepared wood piece.  A choice of patterns will be provided or you can them  use as inspiration to create your own design.  Each piece will be unique and show your own flair.

Class will be held in the Discovery Center at the Whaling Museum.  Wearing a mask and safely distanced we will be while we have a bit of joy at the same time.
